    PLEASE NOTE: Natural casings cannot be shipped outside the US

    An edible casing generally used in the making of bratwurst, bockwurst, and Italian sausage.

    Casings come packed in purified salt and have an indefinite shelf life when stored in the refrigerator. Flush and soak in tap water before using. Salted casings have a very long shelf life when stored properly. Un-refrigerated, these salted casings quickly begin to give off a strong odor even though they are not spoiled. Put them back under refrigeration, and this odor, for the most part, subsides.

    One "hank" = approx. 90m meters

    Stuffing capacity per hank: approx. 125-150lbs.

    Diameter:  1 1/4" to 1 3/8" when stuffed

      We've tried many different et brands of natural hog casing, and this one is the easiest to use and has the best length.

      These pre washed casings are really good. Much better than the dried ones. They don’t break apart as readily and give a nice “snap” on cooked sausage. Also, the price is much better than other sites.

      I used this casing for homemade italian deer sausage. Casing was easy to use with my sausage stuffer. I stuffed 90 pounds of sausage with one hank. Still have some left. Re-salted the casing and sealed it in a vacuum bag. Put in the refrigerator. We will see how long it it keeps like this.
