An edible casing generally used in making of bratwurst, bockwurst and Italian sausage. (1 lb. of meat uses approximately 2 feet of casings)
Casings come packed in purified salt and have an indefinite shelf life when stored in the refrigerator. Flush and soak in tap water before using. Salted casings have a very long shelf life when stored properly. Un-refrigerated, these salted casings quickly begin to give off a strong odor even though they are not spoiled. Put them back under refrigeration and this odor for the most part subsides.

These pre washed casings are really good. Much better than the dried ones. They don’t break apart as readily and give a nice “snap” on cooked sausage. Also, the price is much better than other sites.
Had no problem with casings worked great.
Product arrived packaged well, used the very next day and all I can say is wow.

I used this casing for homemade italian deer sausage. Casing was easy to use with my sausage stuffer. I stuffed 90 pounds of sausage with one hank. Still have some left. Re-salted the casing and sealed it in a vacuum bag. Put in the refrigerator. We will see how long it it keeps like this.
